Jon-Luc

Jean-Luc is the normal French spelling for this very cool name, however, we chose Jon-Luc to put an American spin on it and as far as I know makes his name totally original!

Jon-Luc William was born March 6th 2005, after 47 hours of extremely intense labor. I must say, my hat is off to women that go through that rite of passage. If it was Man whom gave birth, this experiment called humanity would have ended thousands of years ago. We just do not have it within us to manage pain like that.

Anyway, the little beautiful man, was born at 4:12 PM, He weighed a whopping 8 pounds 14 ounces, 21 inches long, a head full of dark hair and greenish looking eyes. A very handsome baby indeed!

The story of Jon-Luc’s mother Barbarella begins about 12 years ago in Baja California, on a warm April late evening, with a full moon reflecting off the Gulf of Mexico… That moment led us to Jon-Luc and where it has got the two of us is still mystery to her and many of our friends and family… and to me it’s kind of a bad dream that took me a lifetime to put into a context of understanding and love… but this story is for another time. It’s all about me wee little son tonight! What great a day to be ALIVE! And thank you God of AMAZING children for my beautiful sons!

Contractions are thirty minutes apart.... YIKES

I now am soaking Barbarella in a huge bubble bath, packing our bags for our trip to the birthing center. I'll call the mid-wife when the contractions are 5 mins apart and then we are on our way! Did not think I'd be nervous the second time around.... and I am! Hahahahaha.... It's GREAT to be ALIVE! Young Luke will be here in a few hours.
